In these very
unsettling times, it was necessary to create plans for various
emergency situations. As a team, the Administration, Faculty, and
Staff are dedicated to keeping the children of Immaculate Heart of
Mary School safe.
LOCKDOWN: Should a lockdown be necessary, students will remain in their
classrooms or whatever classroom they are in at the time of the
emergency. Water and snack food will be made available should we
need to remain for any length of time. All rooms are equipped with
radios and emergency materials.
*** Please listen to WBAL Radio for details during an emergency
situation. DO NOT CALL SCHOOL! The phone lines will be
busy.
*** DO NOT RUSH TO SCHOOL! During a CODE
RED, remain in a safe place until you hear it is safe
to venture out. Upon arriving at school, have ID ready. No student
will be released to anyone without the proper identification. Only
you may take your child unless you have supplied names on your
emergency papers. Everyone will have ID checked.
EVACUATION:
If it is necessary to leave the school, all students will be
walked to Babcock Presbyterian Church on Loch Raven Blvd. All
precautions will be exercised to keep the children safe and calm.
NO students will be released during the walk. All children will be
gathered at Babcock and ID must be shown to get your child. All
emergency sheets will be checked for names to release a child.
***
Please follow the above directions and listen to WBAL Radio for
details during an emergency. Remember, keep yourself safe. Your
child needs you!
It is our sincere hope that none of these measures will ever have
to be taken!
Pray for Peace!
