Student Handbook - Behavior Code Agreement Letter

  The purpose of our school uniform code is to reflect the respectful learning environment at
Immaculate Heart of Mary School

KINDERGARTEN - no uniform - play clothes - no gym suit.
GIRLS - GRADES 1 THRU 5
 Uniform should be neat and tidy - blouse tucked in and no rolled waistbands  
     Plaid jumper and peter pan collar WHITE blouse - long or short sleeve
     Sweater:  plain navy blue or IHM logo only or IHM sweatshirt
     Shoes:  brown, black, or saddles (navy & white) no sport shoes
     Socks:  white or navy, no logos, must cover ankle bone and be visible,
                may wear navy or white tights in winter           
     Turtleneck:  white, may be worn with or without blouse (Oct - Apr)
     Warm weather uniform (Sept & April 15/June) navy blue skort with white
     uniform blouse or white polo - with or without IHM logo - tennis shoes may be
     worn. Roller shoes are not permitted.
BOYS - GRADES 1 THRU 5
  Uniform should be neat and tidy with shirts tucked in    
     Pants:  plain navy twill (e.g. Dockers)  - no decals
     Shirt:  light blue polo - long or short sleeve
     Belt:  brown or black     
     Shoes:  brown or black, no boots or sport shoes  
     Socks:  white or navy, no logos, must cover ankle bone and be visible
     Sweater:   plain navy blue or IHM logo only or IHM sweatshirt
     Turtleneck:  white, may be worn with or without shirt (Oct - Apr)
     Warm weather uniform (Sept & April 15/June) navy blue dress shorts
     with uniform shirt or white polo -  tennis shoes may be worn.
GIRLS - GRADES 6 THRU 8
 Uniform should be neat and tidy - blouse tucked in and no rolled waistbands     
     Skirt:  navy blue kilt, no shorter than 2" above the knee
     Blouse:  light blue oxford button down - long or short sleeve
                 (t shirts worn under blouse must be plain white)
     Sweater:  plain navy blue or IHM logo only or IHM sweatshirt
     Shoes:  brown, black or saddles (navy & white) no sport shoes
     Socks:  white or navy, no logos, must cover ankle bone and be visible
                (may wear navy or white tights in winter)
     Turtleneck:  white, may be worn under blouse (Oct - Apr)

      blue oxford or white polo, with or without logo- tennis shoes may be worn.

BOYS - GRADES 6 THRU 8
    Uniform should be neat and tidy with shirts tucked in 
     Pants:  plain navy twill (e.g. Dockers) - must be worn at the waist, no
                extreme styles with baggy look or big pockets - may NOT be rolled
     Shirt:  light blue oxford button down - long or short sleeve
               (t shirt worn under the shirt must be plain white)
     Shoes:  brown or black, no boots or sport shoes
      Socks:  white or navy, no logos, must cover ankle bone and be visible
     Belt:  brown or black
     Sweater:  plain navy blue or IHM logo only or IHM sweatshirt
     Turtleneck:  white worn under shirt (Oct - Apr)
     Warm weather uniform (Sept & April 15/June) navy blue dress shorts - no
     extreme styles with baggy look or big pockets - uniform shirt or white polo,
     tennis shoes may be worn.  Roller shoes are not permitted.
    
JEWELRY
All grades - earrings (Girls only) no larger than a dime.  Only one earring per ear; no dangles or extremes, bracelet - one only; necklace - one only.
  
  GYM UNIFORM
For boys and girls (except Pre-K & K's) the gym uniform must be purchased from the school store.  Students will wear the IHM gym uniform to and from school on the days they have gym.  Sweatpants must be worn to and from school in colder weather (Nov. - March).  No logos on socks.  Tennis shoes must tie, no roller shoes are permitted.
     
 
 
 
 
 
 
           HAIR    
                Boys - neat, clean, no longer than the top collar, above the eyebrow and                  
                the middle of the ear:  no extreme styles; no page boy cuts, no shaved
                heads, no dyes.
                Girls - neat, clean, blue or white ribbons and headbands only.  No shaved heads.
                No extreme styles.  No dyes.

When in uniform, only IHM sweatshirt is allowed. 

Make up and nail polish are not permitted unless specifically stated for a special event.
No hats may be worn in the building.
Tattoos and body piercings are not allowed.
